Multicultural literature does not have to only be used during reading time. It can be used across all subjects such as math, social studies, and writing. In math, you can use multicultural books to show different ways math is used and done in other cultures. How we use inches while other cultures use centimeters. In social studies, multicultural books can be used to show different historical events. For example, books about slaves and the Native Americans. These books can actually be more accurate about the events. In writing, multicultural books can be used to give students prompts as well as a resource to use to be accurate.
